Favicon maker Usage guide

Turn one image into PNGs, an ICO, and a web manifest.

Open tool

Put it to work

Upload a square logo to download 16–512 px PNGs and a 32 px ICO in a ZIP.

From input to output

  1. Open Favicon maker and load the example.
  2. Read the format notes, choose your options, and replace the example with your input. Start with test data instead of sensitive information.
  3. Run the tool and inspect the result and status. If an error appears, correct the input format and run it again.
  4. Copy the output or download a file. Generated and converted results are not saved automatically.

From browser tabs to home screens

Browser tabs commonly use 16 and 32 px icons; iOS home screens use a 180 px PNG; web apps use 192 and 512 px PNGs. The ICO provided here contains a single 32 px PNG. Legacy multi-resolution ICO requirements need a separate converter. Fine detail disappears at small sizes, so simple marks work best. If an old icon remains after replacement, inspect the browser’s favicon cache and deployment path.

Example input

Details that matter

Format and meaning

Rectangular images retain their aspect ratio and are centered on a transparent square.

Using it correctly

The ZIP includes HTML link examples and site.webmanifest. Place the files at your site root.

Supported scope and limits

PNG, JPEG, WebP; up to 10 MB and 4,096×4,096 pixels

Split inputs that exceed the limit. If a format or algorithm is unsupported, choose a tool that matches your requirements instead of silently changing the format.
